Spider-Man: Brand New Day may be almost a year away, but the hype train is already going. As soon as Tom Holland and Sony revealed the new Spidey suit a few months ago, fans were clamoring for more sneak peaks, if not a full trailer. While, it’s too early for a full trailer, Sony knows how to keep the fans fed as it released a new vignette titled “Day One on Set.”
Tom Holland Returns to the Streets of New York
In the one-minute highlight video, we see Tom Holland and Brand New Day director Destin Daniel Cretton embrace on the streets of New York City as they prepare to film some very public scenes. The video brings to HD the viral clips and photos that were all over social media back in August.
It’s impossible to know if this was all part of the marketing campaign from the beginning, or whether Sony realized the potential it had once the clips went viral, but it’s a brilliant decision to put it all together in this polished package.
Holland Embodies Spider-Man
I’m not sure if an actor has ever seemed to embody a superhero for the people kind of energy that Tom Holland does as Spider-Man. Watching him casually and comfortably stroll down the streets of New York City the way Peter Park would, and film these incredible scenes surrounded by fans, is truly iconic.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day releases July 31, 2026 and it can’t come soon enough.
