Advance tickets are now on sale for Everest: The Other Side, the new documentary from Oscar winning filmmakers Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin (Free Solo, Meru). A new IMAX poster and TV spot were also released ahead of the film’s theatrical release on October 30th.
From Walt Disney Studios, National Geographic Documentary Films, and Little Monster Films, the documentary follows elite ski mountaineers Jim Morrison and Hilaree Nelson, whose shared passion led them to attempt one of the most dangerous challenges on Mount Everest. The couple set out to climb and ski the mountain’s direct North Face, a route that only a handful of climbers have used to reach the top of the mountain, and one that none had successfully skied down.
Everest: The Other Side Comes to IMAX October 30th
Directed and produced by Vasarhelyi and Chin, Everest: The Other Side explores Morrison and Nelson’s relationship and their pursuit of an extraordinary mountaineering achievement. The film is the only documentary this fall to screen at the Venice International Film Festival, Telluride Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival.
