Disney – New ‘Raya and the Last Dragon’ Sneak Peak with Original Song by Jhené Aiko

Disney released a new sneak peak of Raya and the Last Dragon with new scenes from the upcoming film, along with an original song by Grammy®-nominated artist and songwriter, Jhené Aiko. Titled “Lead the Way,” Aiko’s song will play during the end credits of the film and be part of the Walt Disney Records soundtrack, available digitally on February 26th.

DIsney will also be releasing a music video for the track next month, directed by one of the  “Raya and the Last Dragon” directors, Carlos López Estrada.

A brand-new sneak peek at Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Raya and the Last Dragon” reveals the new original song, “Lead the Way,” written and performed by Grammy®-nominated artist and songwriter, Jhené Aiko.  Oscar®-nominated, Emmy® and Grammy®-winning composer James Newton-Howard (“News of the World,” “A Hidden Life,” “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindewald”) created the original score.   “Lead the Way” is featured in the end credits and is included on the Walt Disney Records soundtrack, available digitally on Feb. 26.  The music video for the track featuring Aiko is directed by one of  “Raya and the Last Dragon” directors, Carlos López Estrada, and will be released next month.

“Raya and the Last Dragon” takes us on an exciting, epic journey to the fantasy world of Kumandra, where humans and dragons lived together long ago in harmony. But when an evil force threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity. Now, 500 years later, that same evil has returned and it’s up to a lone warrior, Raya, to track down the legendary last dragon to restore the fractured land and its divided people. However, along her journey, she’ll learn that it’ll take more than a dragon to save the world—it’s going to take trust and teamwork as well.  

“Raya and the Last Dragon” features an outstanding voice cast, including Kelly Marie Tran, Awkwafina, Gemma Chan, Daniel Dae Kim, Sandra Oh, Benedict Wong, Izaac Wang, Thalia Tran, Alan Tudyk, Lucille Soong, Patti Harrison and Ross Butler. Don Hall and Carlos López Estrada are directing, with Paul Briggs and John Ripa co-directing. Osnat Shurer and Peter Del Vecho are the producers, and Qui Nguyen and Adele Lim wrote the screenplay.

Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Raya and the Last Dragon’’ will be available on Disney+ with Premier Access in most Disney+ markets, at the same time as it is released in theaters on March 5, 2021. Premier Access for the title will be priced at $29.99.
