Marvel Reveals Pride Month Variant Covers by Phil Jimenez

MARVOICESPRIDE2021001 Pride B min scaled e1620860614915

Marvel is celebrating Pride Month in a big way with nine incredible variant covers by artist Phil Jimenez. The covers feature some of Marvel’s most popular LGBTQ+ heroes: Wiccan and Hulkling, America Chavez, Mystique, Northstar, Iceman, Moondragon, Black Cat, Daken, and the new Valkyrie, Runa.

“I’m always blown away at how different things are now in comics when it comes to LGBTQ+ representation than when I started, and Marvel’s dedication to that inclusion,” Jimenez said. “As an (ahem!) older gay creator, I’m always thrilled by the opportunity to draw iconic LGBTQ+ characters from Marvel’s past and present, and grateful to contribute to Marvel’s future: one that truly represents the world — and the wonderful diversity of humanity — right outside your window.”

The first two covers, Black Cat #7 and Marauders #21 featuring Iceman, release on June 2nd, with additional covers releasing in subsequent weeks throughout the month of June.

My favorite cover is Marvel’s Voices: Pride #1 featuring America Chavez. America’s powerful stance, the star around her and her determined facial expression really just stands out. Jimenez outdid himself with that one!
