Action Packed Trailer for ‘The Brothers Sun’ Starring Michelle Yeoh

EN US TBS Main Family Vertical 27x40 RGB min e1701991276682

If you want awesome martial arts action, great set pieces, family instrigue and Academy Award Winner Michelle Yeoh, all in one epic package, it looks like The Brothers Sun is for you. Netflix’s upcoming action series from Byron Wu and Brad Falchuk, the story centers around a triad family that is being hunted down by a mysterious rival group.

Yeoh plays Eileen, the matriarch of the family who has two sons, Charles (Justin Chien) and Bruce (Sam Song Li). Charles is deep into the family business, with the skills to show for it, while Bruce is blissfully ignorant of his family’s violent background.

The Brothers Sun Trailer

I was already excited about this series when it was first teased at Netflix Geeked Week last month, which prominently featured a San Gabriel Plaza sign with several of the series stars and creatives listed. For the uninitiated, the San Gabriel Valley in California is a hub of Asian American communities, with more Asian Americans in the region than most states in the United States. Just the authenticity of the setting spoke to me, especially as someone who grew up in “the SGV.”

After seeing the actual trailer, my anticipation went through the roof. The trailer is simply spectacular, with epic action, amazing sets and fantastic music. This series could really be something special and I can’t wait to see more.

The Brothers Sun premieres on Netflix January 4, 2024.
