Teyonah Parris, Lil Rel Howery and Ludacris Star in Holiday Comedy ‘Dashing Through the Snow’

DTTS 01006 R COMP min

This holiday, Teyonah Parris, Lil Rel Howery and Chris “Ludacris” Bridges come together for a Black led holiday film, Dashing Through the Snow, about a man who lost his faith in Christmas. The film is about a social worker, Eddie Garrick (Chris “Ludacris” Bridges), who no longer believes in Christmas due to a traumatic experience, but through his family and an unexpected encounter with a man in a Santa suit (Lil Rel Howery), rediscovers the magic of the holiday season.

It sounds like the kind of heart-warming holiday story audiences have loved for years, but one of the rare instances where the film is led by am incredibly talented Black cast and helmed by a Black director in Tim Story. Teyonah Parris, who is also starring in The Marvels by Marvel Studios, is set to dominate this upcoming Christmas season. Lil Rel Howery seems to be fully entrenched in the Disney family, as he recently starred in the 20th Century Studios sequel Vacation Friends 2 on Hulu. And rounding out the main cast is Ludacris, who has been a stalwart in the Fast and the Furious franchise. This film seems like an interesting departure from most of his past roles, and it should be fun to see the legendary rap artist as the good-hearted family man who needs to be saved by the magic of Christmas.
