Prime Video’s Culture Rated, an initiative that celebrates Black creatives, hosted a special event at San Diego Comic-Con. Dubbed “Blerd & Boujee: A Celebration of Black Nerd Culture,” the special event featured a star-studded guest list from many of Prime Video’s top titles, including The Boys, The Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power, Sausage Party: Foodtopia, and the highly anticipated Japanese original series Like A Dragon: Yakuza.
Among those who joined in on the festivities were Yvette Nicole Brown, Omari Hardwick, Malcolm Barrett, and M3GAN screenwriter Akela Cooper.
It’s always fun to see so many Black and other diverse creatives celebrated and celebrating together, and the fact that Prime Video took the opportunity to host this event during the biggest geek gathering of the year is just perfect. Events like these also offer everyone, creatives and fans alike, a chance to take a moment and really appreciate how much incredible diverse talent there is in the industry.
Check out some fantastic photos from the event, as well as an extensive gallery via IMDB. Here’s hoping we see more and more of these kinds of celebrations in the future!
