‘Marvel Zombies’ Offers First Look at Blade, Zombie Namor and More in New Disney+ Series

PCA9270 comp v901.1097 R min

The concept of zombies invading the Marvel universe has been a reliably fascinating one in the comics for decades. Since at least Ultimate Fantastic Four #21 (2005), which showed an alternate Marvel universe overrun by zombies, the genre mixing of super powered beings and the relentless undead has provided some incredibly fun stories.

Zombies entered the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the first season of Marvel’s What If…? animated series, which was also one of the best episodes of the entire run. No surprise that Marvel decided to capitalize on everyone’s flesh eating fiends by creating a limited animated series entirely in that world.

Marvel Zombies Trailer

The first trailer for Marvel Zombies was released today and it’s a carnage-filled, blood-thirsty spectacle. Highlights from the trailer include Shang-Chi, Jimmy Woo and Katy teaming up, Okoye leading the zombie horde, zombie Namor and the first MCU appearance of Blade modeled after Mahershala Ali (though apparently not voiced by him).

While Ali does not seem to be part of the voice cast for Marvel Zombies, the series does boast an impressive list of MCU actors voicing the roles they originated. The released voice cast includes Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Tessa Thompson, Simu Liu, Awkwafina, Hailee Steinfeld, Wyatt Russell, Randall Park, Iman Vellani and Dominique Thorne.

Check out the trailer, stills and an absolutely stunning poster from the upcoming series. Marvel Zombies releases September 24th on Disney+!
