Marvel took over New York Comic-Con today with one of the biggest panels of the con showcasing highly anticipated TV and animation projects for 2026. Hosted by Phase Hero’s Brandon Davis, with Head of Marvel Television and Marvel Animation Brad Winderbaum, the panel shared some sneak peaks and details for several upcoming titles like Wonder Man, Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, X-Men ’97 Season 2 and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2.
The biggest reveal of the presentation was for the next Marvel TV series, Wonder Man, starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Sir Ben Kingsley and executive produced by Destin Daniel Cretton. Marvel released an intriguing tease yesterday in advance of the panel, where they finally released the first official trailer. Thus far, the series, in which Abdul-Mateen II plays a struggling actor, looks unlike anything Marvel has done before. What’s particularly interesting is that the trailer focuses entirely on the meta Hollywood element of the show and doesn’t at all touch on the inevitable superhero twist. I’m eager to see how quickly the series will flip the switch and shift from an industry focused story to a superhero one.
Wonder Man was originally set to release at the end of 2025, but the series has been pushed to January 27, 2026 at 6 PM PT on Disney+.
In addition to Wonder Man, Marvel highlighted two other upcoming shows – Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 and VisionQuest. Daredevil himself, Charlie Cox made an appearance, and was joined by Krysten Ritter, who rejoins the Daredevil universe as Jessica Jones. They shared a look at the sophomore season, which releases March 2026, and also revealed that Season 3 of Born Again is already in the works.
In a bit of a surprise announcement, Winderbaum welcomed Vision actor Paul Bettany, to reveal that VisionQuest would be the final series to cap the trilogy of stories that began with WandaVision and continued with Agatha All Along. Bettany talked about reuniting with James Spader’s Ultron before sharing an exclusive look at the series. VisionQuest is coming in 2026 but a specific release month was not released.
On the animation side, where Marvel has been hugely successful, Winderbaum discussed the second seasons of two of the most highly anticipated shows – Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and X-Men ’97.
As part of the sneak peaks at the two animated shows, fans were treated to the reveal of two massively popular villains set to appear in each respective series – Venom and Apocalypse.
For X-Men ’97, Winderbaum welcomed Eric and Julia Lewald, the writers who originally created X-Men: The Animated Series, and announced that they, along with original series director Larry Houston, have joined X-Men ’97 Season 2 as Executive Producers. This is great news following the tumultuous creative situation that followed the first season.
