Hilarious New Teaser Trailer and Poster for ‘Barbie’

A new teaser trailer and poster have been revealed for Warner Bros. upcoming live-action film Barbie, which really needs no other explanation. Starring Margot Robbie in the title role, and Ryan Gosling as (who else) Ken, the film looks like an explosion of beautiful colors and even more beautiful people.

In addition to Robbie and Gosling, the star studded cast includes Simu Liu, America Ferrera, Rhea Perlman, Emma Mackey, Will Farrell and Michael Cera.

Barbie is directed by Greta Gerwig, who also wrote the screenplay with Noah Baumbach. who wrote and directed Lady Bird and Little Women, which were both nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture. Gerwig also earned Academy Award nominations for Best Director and Best Original Screenplay for Lady Bird, and Best Adapted Screenplay for Little Women.

Barbie Teaser Trailer

Barbie almost causes mental dissonance. It’s a film about a line of iconic toys, which don’t exactly have the best track record. However, considering Gerwig’s considerable talents and credentials, and the sizzling cast, it’s hard to imagine Barbie being anything but being excellent. This teaser gives away very little, but the tone is very funny, which is a very welcome element to any toy related film.

It seems that Warner Bros. went about this film the right way in terms of creating a genuinely unique and interesting story around a toy line. It should be noted that Barbie has had quite a few animated films and shows over the years, and some of them are quite popular, especially for younger audiences. This project is obviously very different.

Barbie premieres in theaters July 21, 2023!
