FOX’s hit drama, The Cleaning Lady, is back for a third season! Élodie Yung stars as Thony De La Rosa, a Cambodian doctor from the Philippines, who came to the United States for life-saving medical treatment for her son. Of course, you don’t get drama when things go according to plan, and for the last two seasons, Thony and her family have been in a constant fight for safety from the government and organized crime.
For season three, Filipino American actor JB Tadena (Kung Fu) and Brandon Jay McLaren (Snowfall) join the already stellar cast.
In a new first look teaser, we see Yung’s Thony deal with the events of last season. At the end of season 2 (SPOILERS!), Thony’s sister, Fiona (Martha Millan) was deported to the Philippines and Nadia (Eva De Dominici) had pulled a fast one on those who trusted her. The fallout should be fascinating to see in this third season.
The fact that a network drama with a predominantly Southeast Asian cast, about a Filipino family, is one of FOX’s most successful shows, is really incredible. Especially in the current era of TV, shows are canceled constantly. However, The Cleaning Lady is still going strong and this third season looks like it could very well be the best yet.
Season 3 of The Cleaning Lady premieres Tuesday, March 5 at 8/7c on FOX.
