New Trailer for Documentary ‘Stephen Curry: Underrated’ from Apple and A24

A new trailer and key art were released today from the upcoming documentary, Stephen Curry: Underrated, from Apple Original Films and A24. The documentary follows the early career of Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry, chronicling his journey as an ultra thin and undersized teen player, to becoming one of the best professional basketball players in history.

Many hoops fans may know Steph Curry now, after having won four NBA championships and two NBA Most Valuable Player awards, but some may not realize just how unlikely his path to stardom was. Underrate primarily focuses on Curry’s days at Davidson College, which was the only college to offer him a college scholarship, and his relationship with his college coach Bob McKillop. Although Curry is still near his prime, and his professional career is still going strong, it’s a timely reminder of just how much Curry had to overcome to get to this point. I think this film will give basketball fans a greater appreciation for Curry the next time they watch him play a NBA game.

The documentary is directed by Peter Nicks and produced by Ryan Coogler’s Proximity Media and Erick Peyton through Curry’s Unanimous Media.

Steph Curry: Underrated premieres July 21, 2023 on Apple TV+.
