The Expendables are back for, and with, fresh blood! With the fourth film of the unapologetically action packed franchise, there are new additions both in front of, and behind, the camera. Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Megan Fox, Tony Jaa, Iko Iwais, Jacob Scipio, Levy Tran, and Andy Garcia are among the new cast members in the film, joining stalwarts Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, and, of course, Sylvester Stallone.
This time, director Scott Waugh joins the series to helm the film. Waugh previously directed Hidden Strike, starring Jackie Chan and John Cena (both of whom would be perfect additions to future Expendables films), and Need for Speed starring Aaron Paul.
Recently, Senior Writer Jorgie Rodriguez had the opportunity to speak with Waugh, as well as producers Les Weldon and Kevin King Templeton in advance of the film’s release. Weldon and Templeton have both been involved with the Expendables franchise since the first film.
The creative team talked about what makes this film unique, working with the incredible cast of action stars, and what inspired them to work in the industry.
