Watch the Hilarious Hijinks of Awkwafina and Sandra Oh in the ‘Quiz Lady’ Trailer

The trailer for Quiz Lady, the upcoming comedy starring Awkwafina and Sandra Oh, is finally here and it was worth the wait. Ever since 20th Century Studios released the first look in July, this film has been high on my list of must-watch films for the rest of the year. Most people know that Awkwafina is hilarious, but putting Sandra Oh in the absurdly over-the-top character role for the film is a great way to subvert expectations.

The two stars are both incredibly talented, and the pairing seems like a sure-fire hit. In the trailer, we get to see Awkwafina as the more reserved sibling, Anne, while Oh gets to flex her comedic chops as the bombastic Jenny. Beyond the film’s two main stars, Quiz Lady is stacked with incredible supporting talent, with Jason Schwartzman, Holland Taylor, Tony Hale, and Will Ferrell. In the trailer alone, there are numerous memorably funny scenes, and I certainly can’t wait to see more.

Watch the full trailer and additional stills from the film below. Quiz Lady will premiere at the 48th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival, on Saturday, September 9 and on November 3 exclusively on Hulu in the U.S., Star+ in Latin America, and Disney+ in all other territories.

Q

In “Quiz Lady,” a brilliant but tightly wound, gameshow-obsessed young woman, Anne (Awkwafina), and her estranged, train-wreck of a sister Jenny (Sandra Oh), must work together to help cover their mother’s gambling debts. When Anne’s beloved dog is kidnapped, they set out on a wild, cross-country trek to get the cash the only way they know how: by turning Anne into a bona-fide gameshow champion. The movie, which also stars Jason Schwartzman, Holland Taylor, Tony Hale, and Will Ferrell, is directed by Jessica Yu, written by Jen D’Angelo, and produced by Will Ferrell, Jessica Elbaum, Maggie Haskins, Itay Reiss, Jen D’Angelo, Awkwafina, and Sandra Oh, with Alex Brown and Erika Hampson serving as executive producers.
