‘The Beach Boys’ Documentary Coming to Disney+ on May 24th

The Beach Boys are coming to Disney+! A new documentary on the iconic band is set to stream on May 24th in conjunction with a soundtrack, an album reissue for collectors, and an upcoming official book.

The documentary, titled The Beach Boys, is a tribute to the influential band that reshaped pop music and embodied the essence of the California dream. Directed by Frank Marshall and Thom Zimny, the film delves into the band’s origins, featuring never-before-seen footage and interviews with Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, David Marks, and Bruce Johnston. It also includes insights from prominent figures in the music industry such as Lindsey Buckingham, Janelle Monáe, Ryan Tedder, and Don Was. The documentary will also feature past interviews with band members Carl and Dennis Wilson, as well as new interviews with Blondie Chaplin and audio from Ricky Fataar.

In addition to the documentary, fans can anticipate the release of the official soundtrack on May 24, featuring songs from the film. For collectors, the group’s iconic 1964 album “Shut Down, Vol. 2” is being reissued on a limited edition blue and white marble vinyl on March 29. For those eager to delve deeper into the story, the band’s only official book, “The Beach Boys by The Beach Boys” will be released on April 2.

The Beach Boys documentary serves as a celebration of the band’s enduring impact on music and culture. The film is produced by Frank Marshall, Irving Azoff, Nicholas Ferrall, Jeanne Elfant Festa, Aly Parker, with Nigel Sinclair, Mark Monroe, Tony Rosenthal, Cassidy Hartmann, Glen Zipper, Thom Zimny, Beth Collins, Jimmy Edwards, Susan Genco, Marc Cimino, Jody Gerson, Bruce Resnikoff, and Ben J. Murphy serving as executive producers.
