Family and Foreboding Highlight ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ Final Trailer

Exactly one month away from the date on which The Fantastic Four: First Steps blasts off, Marvel Studios released the final trailer and poster for the film.

This trailer is essentially broken up into two parts: First, a full and formal introduction to Marvel‘s first family, which the announcer describes as “famous around the world.” We also get to see more of that world, which is uniquely retro-futuristic. While the decor and aesthetics look straight out of the 1960s, the buildings and technology are clearly more advanced than the 1960s of our world.

Second, their heroic bliss is interrupted by the foreboding arrival of Galactus’ herald, the Silver Surfer. As seen in previous trailers, she announces the coming of her master and the end of this world. We get an extended look at her, as well as a pretty good glimpse at Galactus himself. What really stands out in this trailer is how terrifying Galactus is to our heroes, and just how uncertain the future is for this world.

It’s a great trailer, full of emotion and intensity, and I can’t help but continue to think that this film will end in tragedy. Thanks to Thunderbolts* New Avengers, we know that the Fantastic Four eventually appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe proper, Earth 626. The question is, when we see them at the end of that film, are they searching for help or fleeing to safety?

We will all find out on July 25, 2025 when The Fantastic Four: First Steps releases.

“THE FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS” FINAL TRAILER BLASTS OFF

In one month, Marvel’s first family flies into theaters around the globe. Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch and The Thing are joined by H.E.R.B.I.E., the Silver Surfer and planet-eating cosmic being Galactus in a retro-fururistic thrill-ride! A new trailer and poster are available now to download and share.

Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel Studios’ “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” introduces Marvel’s First Family —Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) and Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn) as they face their most daunting challenge yet. Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus(Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.

The action adventure also stars Paul Walter Hauser, Natasha Lyonne and Sarah Niles. “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” is directed by Matt Shakman, produced by Kevin Feige and executive produced by Louis D’Esposito, Grant Curtis and Tim Lewis.
