A creepy new motion poster was released today for New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Pictures’ upcoming film Don’t Worry Darling. The poster features Harry Styles and Florence Pugh sharing what looks to be an intimate moment, with the implausible tag line, “are you ready to live the life you deserve?” above them. Suddenly, the scene is cut with a brief but chilling glimpse of what looks like zombie women in swimwear. I have no idea.
It’s an effective and memorable piece of marketing that does a good job of communicating the overall theme of the film. We know that the characters in Don’t Worry Darling are involved in some kind of utopia experiment, and if you’ve ever watched a movie before, you know there’s something sinister going on behind the scenes.
Check out the motion poster below. The star-studded film premieres September 23, 2022!
Alice and Jack are lucky to be living in the idealized community of Victory, the experimental company town housing the men who work for the top-secret Victory Project and their families. The 1950’s societal optimism espoused by their CEO, Frank—equal parts corporate visionary and motivational life coach—anchors every aspect of daily life in the tight-knit desert utopia. While the husbands spend every day inside the Victory Project Headquarters, working on the “development of progressive materials,” their wives—including Frank’s elegant partner, Shelley—get to spend their time enjoying the beauty, luxury and debauchery of their community. Life is perfect, with every resident’s needs met by the company. All they ask in return is discretion and unquestioning commitment to the Victory cause. But when cracks in her idyllic life begin to appear, exposing flashes of something much more sinister lurking beneath the attractive façade, Alice can’t help questioning exactly what they’re doing in Victory, and why. Just how much is Alice willing to lose to expose what’s really going on in this paradise?
Directed by Olivia Wilde, DON’T WORRY DARLING stars Oscar nominee Florence Pugh, Harry Styles, Olivia Wilde, Gemma Chan, KiKi Layne, and Chris Pine. It also stars Nick Kroll, Sydney Chandler, Kate Berlant, Asif Ali, Douglas Smith, Timothy Simons and Ari’el Stachel.
The film will be in US theaters on September 23, 2022.
