Pixar’s ‘Toy Story 5’ Teaser Trailer: Greta Lee Joins Cast as Lilypad the Tablet

The boys and girls are back in town and they’re bringing some high-tech new friends with them! Just over seven months before the release of Toy Story 5, Disney and Pixar released the first teaser trailer for the next film in the iconic animated franchise, along with an exciting new addition to the voice cast.

The teaser trailer features several of the beloved Toy Story characters reacting in horror to the contents of a box being delivered in Bonnie’s house. Unlike past stories, where a new package brought new toys to join the group, this time, “the age of toys is over,” as the trailer says, and Bonnie unpacks a new tablet. Decorated like a cute frog and named Lilypad, the new high-tech device will be voiced by Golden Globe nominated actress Greta Lee.

The introduction of a tablet toy is a clear next step for the toy based franchise. Anybody with kids knows that they basically don’t even play with toys after a very young age (although some adults still play with toys!). How the tablet will be given a personality and characterization that blends with the existing toy world will be interesting. Lee is a great addition to the film and is strengthening her relationship with Disney after starring in Tron: Ares earlier this year.

Toy Story 5 releases Jun 19, 2026 and is sure to be one of the biggest films of the year.

THE TOYS ARE BACK AND THIS TIME IT’S TOY MEETS TECH AS DISNEY AND PIXAR DEBUT FIRST “TOY STORY 5” TEASER TRAILER AND NEW POSTER

GRETA LEE JOINS THE VOICE CAST AS NEW HIGH-TECH TOY LILYPAD

BURBANK, Calif. (November 11, 2025) – Disney and Pixar have debuted the first teaser trailer and an all-new poster for “Toy Story 5,” and this time, it’s Toy meets Tech.

In the teaser, fans are introduced to the new character Lilypad, a high-tech, frog-shaped smart tablet voiced by Greta Lee (“Past Lives,” “The Morning Show,” “TRON: Ares”) that makes Buzz, Woody, Jessie and the rest of the gang’s jobs exponentially harder when they go head to head with the all-new threat to playtime.

Tom Hanks returns as the ever-loyal cowboy Woody, Tim Allen reports for duty as Buzz Lightyear, Joan Cusack saddles up again as the rootin’-tootin’ cowgirl Jessie, and Tony Hale is back as the voice of the handcrafted toy Forky. It was recently announced that Conan O’Brien will also join the voice cast as the toilet training tech toy Smarty Pants.

Director Andrew Stanton and co-director Kenna Harris state, “It’s been a hilarious and poignant journey exploring how our favorite team of legacy toys might respond to today’s world of technology, and we’re thrilled to share this first glimpse with audiences. Having the remarkably talented Greta Lee bring Lilypad to life — balancing a playfully antagonistic tone with humor and heart — has been incredible.”

“Toy Story 5” is directed by Academy Award® winner Andrew Stanton (“WALL•E,” “Finding Nemo,” “Finding Dory”), co-directed by Kenna Harris (“Ciao Alberto”) and produced by Lindsey Collins (“Turning Red,” “WALL•E,” “Finding Dory”). The animated adventure releases in theaters nationwide on June 19, 2026.
