New ‘Elemental’ Featurette Provides an Inside Look at the Film

Disney and Pixar’s latest film, Elemental, is just over two weeks away and a new featurette provides an inside look at the characters and voices in the film. It’s always fun to see the voice actors behind-the-scenes, and this featurette includes Leah Lewis, Mamoudou Athie, Catherine O’Hara and Wendi McLendon-Covey, both in the recording studio and discussing their characters.

What’s great to see in the featurette is that it shows Lewis and Athie recording together, and in this current era of animation, it’s increasingly rare for the voice cast to be in the same room. While it makes a lot of sense for voice actors to be able to record on their own, it’s also a treat to see them interact with one another during recording.

Welcome to Element City Featurette

As with any big film, Elemental is being released in some of the best theaters with the best technology, including 4DX, RealD 3D and Dolby. In honor of the various prestige formats available, Disney released several new posters for the film, as well as an exclusive Fandango poster. My personal preference is to watch on Dolby, as I love the incredible audio experience.

As for the posters themselves, the Fandango poster is my favorite, as it’s framed nicely by the two main characters, Ember (Leah Lewis) and Wade (Mamoudou Athie), with a nice look at Element City and other characters behind them.

Check out all the posters below. Elemental premieres June 16th in theaters.

“Elemental” is an all-new, original feature film set in Element City, where Fire-, Water-, Earth- and Air-residents live together. The story introduces Ember, a tough, quick-witted and fiery young woman, whose friendship with a fun, sappy, go-with-the-flow guy named Wade challenges her beliefs about the world they live in. Directed by Peter Sohn, produced by Denise Ream, p.g.a., and executive produced by Pete Docter, “Elemental” features a screenplay by John Hoberg & Kat Likkel and Brenda Hsueh with story by Sohn, Hoberg & Likkel and Hsueh. The film’s original score was composed and conducted by Thomas Newman.
