Disney and Pixar’s next great adventure is here, and this time they’re headed to space! A new teaser trailer, poster and images were released today for Disney and Pixar’s Elio, a space adventure where Elio, a young boy, is taken by a group of aliens to help determine Earth’s fate.
Directed by Adrian Molina and produced Mary Alice Drumm, who both worked on Coco, the stellar voice cast includes Jameela Jamil, Brad Garrett, America Ferrera, abd Yonas Kibreab.
The teaser is really cute, with some fun looking, and vaguely terrifying, aliens that mistake Elio for Earth’s leader. At first, Elio does what any of us would do, admit that he is not the world’s leader. But when an alien responds by planning to wipe his memory (with something that looks like a chainsaw), he decides to fake it until he makes it. One can only assume that his mother, who we see briefly in the beginning, will embark on a mission to save her son.
The aliens have a lot of potential for hilarious hijinks and even some emotional resonance as well, and that combination is where Pixar excels. Check out the teaser above and additional images below.
Elio is scheduled to premiere in theaters March 1, 2024!

For centuries, people have called out to the universe looking for answers—in Disney and Pixar’s all-new movie “Elio,” the universe calls back! The original feature film introduces Elio, an underdog with an active imagination who finds himself inadvertently beamed up to the Communiverse, an interplanetary organization with representatives from galaxies far and wide. Mistakenly identified as Earth’s ambassador to the rest of the universe, and completely unprepared for that kind of pressure, Elio must form new bonds with eccentric alien lifeforms, survive a series of formidable trials and somehow discover who he is truly meant to be.
